Our Story
My name is Scott Cummings, and long before Superior Coatings Texas existed, I was the type of guy that couldn't walk past a dirty vehicle without wanting to clean it. Even before I was old enough to drive, I spent my time cleaning vehicles for my parents, my brother, friends, and neighbors. Looking back, that passion for attention to detail was the beginning of everything.
Right after graduating high school, I entered the automotive reconditioning industry working with dealerships and wholesale auctions throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. What began as interior reconditioning quickly expanded into mastering paint correction, leather restoration, trim refinishing, cosmetic repairs, and complete vehicle reconditioning.
By just 21 years old, I had become the technician everyone called when a vehicle required extra precision or a repair was considered too difficult. As my career progressed, I became a Lead Technician before eventually serving as Operations Manager and overseeing company-wide quality control—all while continuing to tackle the industry's toughest cosmetic repairs.
For more than 14 years I trained technicians, developed repair processes, and refined my craft. During that time, I noticed something interesting. Whenever people asked what I did for a living, they'd immediately walk me over to their own vehicle and ask:
"Can this be fixed?"
Those conversations made me realize there was a gap in the industry. Most people only had two choices: a traditional detail shop focused primarily on cleaning, or a collision repair facility where even small cosmetic issues could become expensive, time-consuming repairs.
I knew there had to be a better option.
That's why I founded Superior Coatings Texas—to bring dealership-level automotive reconditioning directly to vehicle owners. Today we combine premium detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, cosmetic repairs, and long-term vehicle protection under one roof.
